2007-07-15: General News

After presenting Animal at the ACM ITiCSE 2007 conference, the current version of Animal is 2.3.7.
Within the course of preparing for the conference, a large set of new content generators was implemented, bringing their total number now to close to 100.

2007-06-15: A new version of ANIMAl is available

Animal will be presented at the ACM ITiCSE 2007 conference. This means that many changes and updates will happen before the conference, with the corresponding number of intermediate versions.

2007-05-15: A new version of ANIMAl is available

The 2.2.* line of Animal has added a set of bug fixes and now incorporates Java Generics. This, alas, also means that users of Animal will have to update their JRE / JDK to 5.0 or later, which - given the age of the 5.0 release - many will probably already have done.

2007-03-30: A new version of ANIMAl is available

There have been several minor and major changes in the 2.1.* releases of Animal. The most significant is the drastically faster loading time for AnimalScript animations, which has a speed-up factor of typically 5+ (with values much higher for "long" animations).

2005-06-06: A new version of ANIMAl is available

As of June 6, 2005, you can download the latest release of ANIMAL, version 2.0.1. Compared to version 2.0, there have been a couple of minor bug fixes and improved internationalization issues for German.

2005-06-05: Web page update

The download page has been further revised. You can now access several generators for animation content and an extension that allows you to export the full animation or parts thereof in a set of image formats.

2005-06-03: Web page update

The ANIMAL web page has been (drastically!) revised. Especially the navigation, which is now embedded rather then in a separate frame using JavaScript, has been improved.

2005-06-01: A new version of ANIMAl is available

The new release of ANIMAL, version 2.0, has been officially released!
